Join Running For The First Time

On Sunday, 14 March 2010, for the first time I went for a 10 KM run. It was at Bukit Jalil, Seri Petaling. Running wasn’t my passion. I prefer sports like badminton, tennis, soccer, futsal, basketball, ping pong, bowling, volleyball, pool and snooker. I also like to play chess and singing. But I thought of joining this run to push myself to exercise more and in hope that by doing that, will burn some fat (more specifically the fat at my tummy :D).

Back to that run on that day, it was indeed a great experience for me. I ran 10 KM before a couple of times but on the treadmill (during my membership at California Fitness). But running 10 KM at outdoor was totally different compare to treadmill. The excitement level and atmosphere are so different. Besides that, running at outdoor there could be some ‘hills’ as well.

After a long tiring run, I reached the destination at the end. I was so happy that I got the finisher medals. My timing is one hour eight minutes. I think this timing is not too bad as my best timing for 10 KM on treadmill (without any level) is one hour five minutes. My position is 203 for my category. Not sure how many participants for my category though.

All in a Day’s Work: 9 July 2009

Today, I left customer site at 12.43 AM due to some mess in HCI. Actually, I managed to solve most of the problems after 2-3 hours but because of so many things I have done, I’m worried if I have messed up many things. Appreciate Simon who is willing to come down to help me by confirming everything is okay and clean up some other things as well in a short time. If he didn’t come down, don’t know how long I will be stuck at K3.

From this problems, I also learn more about Ultraman, no I mean UltraEdit. Its file comparison function is really useful, also the delete column function. Its good to have all these problems to revise and strengthen my HCI as well.

I also appreciate my team lead, Lim for his support and teaching me how to delete column using UltraEdit. He is a good team leader.

Minor car accident but I’m alright

I got a minor car accident just now as I was driving from office to our customer side at Plaza Pantai. Not sure if the big van got nearer to my lane or my car got nearer to his lane, but suddenly i realize that my car is about to hit his big van while both are cornering. So, I step on the brake and clutch (mistake but I panic ma. mistake because stepping on the clutch during cornering will cause the car to ‘drift’) but the car was still moving near and near to the big van and that forced me to press the brake a little harder until I can hear some sound came from the tyre. What I heard next is a load “bang”.

My car front left side (below the left main light) hit the back right side of his big van. And my car spin at 90 degree to the right and stopped in the middle of the corner road. I got stunned for a few seconds. Then, I started back the car, drove and pull over to the side. The big van has already pull over much earlier. After I have pull over, I went to check my car. It (front left side) was damaged quite badly. Two Malay guy from this big van came out and asked me if everything is okay. They said their big van is okay. In fact, he didn’t know which side my car hit his big van as he couldn’t spot any damage in his big van. I think my car hit the right side of the protective steel of his big van. That’s why his big van is okay.

I guess I need to spend another few hundreds to fix this damage. But, thank God that no car was driving fast at behind. Imagine if there is, that car can direct head on to me as my car already turn 90 degree to the right. Thank God also that there is a protective steel in that big van. Imagine if I hit other normal car without this protective steel, the losses will be much bigger.

Besides thankful to God, I just need to learn from this minor accident that I should not drive too fast during rain especially during cornering and be more alert when driving under the rain. So, you guys also be careful as well ya.

Blessings of the year 2008

Thank you, God for blessing me with good health. When I have comprehensive health checkup in the month of June, the result was okay. Besides that, the result also let me know that I didn’t have enough antibody for Hepatitis B. If I didn’t take this health checkup, I won’t know that. Lastly, from 7 January 2008 until 31 December 2008, I didn’t take any Medical Certificate (MC), which is a good sign for my health for year 2008. I think my regular workout in California Fitness and playing badminton also help my health.

Thank you, God for providing me a good job after I have tendered my resignation letter. When I tendered my resignation letter, I still haven’t gotten any offer but after that I got an offer. Actually I plan to take a break after I resigned, but imagine if I took the break and after that financial crisis hits, I wonder what will happen to me now. I will be most probably be unemployed for very long. Thank God for providing me this job. Colleagues are okay. Superior is good and open for input. I know when I face any problems, I can bring up to him freely. I can learn things and at the same being paid and the pay is good. By the way, my first day is 25 August, which is also my birthday. Perhaps, this job is a birthday present from God. 🙂

Thank you, God for putting some Christian friends into my life to listen to my life problems and their input to me. They are Kok Keng (my group leader, whom I shared the most problems to), DavidCKK (for his concern and who spur/push me to talk to Kok Meng), David Chong Weng Meng (aka Klang David, my buddy, whom told me to look at myself and his friendship to me), Ang (for concern and his friendship to me).

Thank you, God for this material blessing. My mum sold her good condition car to me with a good price. The car is with power steering making the control of the car much easier compare to the my previous car.

Thank you, God for His protection. I travelled outstation a lot this year of 2008. For work related purpose, in total, I travelled three times, once in Kuantan and twice in Melaka. Travel to outstation more also means more risks. I also travelled three times to Singapore. Thank God for protecting me during all these long journey travellling especially on 7 Nov 2008 which was a near to death experience. God has given me another life to live a little longer in this earth.
